Hey all. I don't know if you all could help me but here's my issue. I have a vista laptop now and I can't seem to get jaws to activate. What happens is it accepts my disk and gets the code from the website by saying your freedom scientific product has been activated thank you blah blah. Now here's the issue after that dialog box goes away another one comes up saying that my version of jaws installed is newer then my authorization key if you've purchased an SMA try to reactivate again or call the sales department then it gives the contact info for sales. So I do that try to reactivate again and we go through the same thing. So on my vista laptop jaws will only run in 40 minute mode. What I don't understand is that I have an SMA for jaws8 and have the same version on my desktop the jaws8.0.273 the only difference is that I started with the first jaws8 on my desktop and on my laptop I just burned a coppy of jaws 8.0.273 from the fs website and installed it from my burnt cd to my laptop while on my desktop I started out with jaws8.0 the first release and upgraded from there.
Am I doing something wrong? or is freedom scientific just trying to play some kind of nasty scam on their customers.
I feel that I shouldn't have to pay for an upgrade because according to the fs website that upgrade is free and I am authorized for jaws8 so have no idea what's going on.
Any ideas? or should I call fs according to the instructions and give them a peace of my mind?
Thanks,
Troy
Sounds like you had better call fs and listen to what they have to say.

Yeah, I should call FS and also, I wouldn't've tried burning the JAWS CDs. As I said in another post elsewhere, I have to get sighted family members to download JAWS for me from the FS website. That's usually a fail safe way of installing it on your Vista laptop.
